Luke Knox, a football player at Florida International University and brother of NFL’s Dawson Knox, has died at the age of 23.
Knox was found unresponsive on the floor of his apartment on Saturday morning after being declared brain dead earlier in the day, according to the Miami Herald.
Born and raised in Homestead, Fla., Knox was a two-time All-American at FIU and was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played for the Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, and Seattle Seahawks before signing with the Oakland Raiders in 2018.
While with the Titans, Knox played alongside his brother Dawson, who is currently a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dawson wrote on Instagram following Luke’s death: ‘My little brother and I have been through so much together…I love you Luke.’
In addition to his football career, Knox also had a focus on education. He completed his undergraduate degree at FIU in 2015 and later earned his law degree from Florida State University in 2018.

Knox played for the FIU Golden Panthers from 2012 to 2016. In his four seasons with the team, he made 114 total tackles (78 solo), 15 sacks, two interceptions and three fumbles recoveries.
He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft but did not make any appearances for them.
Knox is survived by his mother and father.
